Small quilts are ideal for using up scraps of fabric (something no passionate quilter is short of). The size of the little quilts (nothing is larger than 60 x 60 cm) will tempt you to try a new sewing technique or design concept, and you can either follow the instructions or use them as inspiration for your own quilt design.
Doll-sized quilts can be completed relatively quickly and inexpensively. They can be made into cushion covers, runners or wall decorations, or used as a lesson or a trial for a larger project. 15 step-by-step projects have all been designed with the same attention to detail as a full-sized quilt. Seven quilts have been designed by Sarah Fielke and seven by Amy Lobsiger, and the final quilt is a collaboration. Techniques include hand- and machine-quilting, traditional piecing, paper piecing, applique and embroidery. Clearly illustrated instructions for projects and techniques make Little Quilts both practical and inspirational.
